Located off Hwy 130 between Kea'au and Pahoa. 3553 12,000 sq. ft. lots. Private roads. There are mandatory
road maintenace fees. Ainaloa Dr. and Blvd are paved. Unpaved areas are well maintained. Active community
association with a nice building for meetings; this building can be rented out. Elevation from just over 400 ft.
near Hwy 130 and to about 900 ft. at the upper end boardering Hawaiian Acres.
Fern Acres:
Locate off of Hwy 11 near Mountain View. 2 acre lots. 1997 lots in the subdivision.
Private roads with mandatory road
maintenance fees. Main access roads paved (chip seal). Roads are in resonably good condition.
Cooler since this subdivision is at 1,4000 to 1,800 ft. elevation. Suitble for growing orchids such
as Cymbidium, Miltonia, Odontoglossum, Masdevalia and other cool growing orchids. Fruits such as
loquat, pears, persimmons and low chill apple or peach cultivars will thrive. Also, a good area for
coffee and tea cultivation. Electric and phone are available. Water is catchment. Lava hazard Zone 3 last eruption to threaten this area was over
500 years ago.
Hawaiian Acres:
Large subdivision located off Hwy 11. Approximately 4,006 3 acre lots and a few 5 acre lots. Roads are
private except for Moho Rd. (formerly Rd. 8) There are no CC&Rs and mandatory road maintenance fees.
are voluntarily paid to the community association. You may need a jeep or SUV in some areas. Elevation
ranges from 700 ft. near Kurtistown to about 1200 ft. at the upper end of the subdivision. At higher
elevations, coffee, tea, citrus and intermediate or cool growing orchids are cultivated. Lower elevations
almost any tropical and subtropical fruit can be grown. Electric and phone are available. Lava hazard zone 3 last eruption to threaten this
areas was over 500 years ago.
Hawaiian Beaches, Hawaiian Parks, Hawaiian Shores & Hawaiian Shores Recreational Estates:
Nice subdivisions located near Pahoa. 3948 lots mostly in the 12,000 sq. ft. to 15,000 sq. ft. range.
Take Kahakai Blvd. from Hwy 130. You enter these subdivisions just after going around the school.
These subdivisions have piped water; a private water company was formed to serve this subdivision.
Extends from sea level to about 400 ft. elevation. Lava hazard zone 2. Additional insurance may be
required for properties in zone 1 and 2.
Hawaiian Paradise Park:
One of the largest subdivisions in Hawaii County. 8800 lots are mostly 1 acre
but there are a few near the coast that are 1/2 acre or a little less. Roads are private and there
are mandatory road maintenance fees. There are plans to pave most of the roads. Main access roads off
of Hwy 130 are paved. Elevation ranges from sea level to about 400 ft. Topography in most areas is
relatively level to gently sloping. Lava hazard zone 3; last eruption to threaten this area was over 500 years
ago.
Leilani Estates:
This subdivision is located off Hwy 130 past Pahoa. 2232 lots. About a 30 minute drive into Hilo. Lots are 1 acre in
size. The roads are private and paved. Active community association with mandatory fees. This subdivision
has CC&Rs. In lava hazard zone 1. A few local lenders will finance and there is additional requirements
for insurance.
